Fall Style Without Breaking The Bank

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my blog and well I don’t really have an excuse except to say, 2020. All bets are of this year am I right? Anyway back to it. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. I eat pumpkin loaf year round, just to put into perspective how much I love all things pumpkin. So it’s only natural that I love all things Fall fashion. I want to buy all the boots and sweaters! Which can be an issue for someone like me who is on a mission to be debt free. So here is my advice on how to still be fabulous without breaking the bank.

Tip #1. Stick to the basics (they work year round)

I love buying t-shirts! I never would’ve said that a few years ago but here is what I’ve found. They never go out of style and you can transition them into just about any season. Target and other great stores have deals on tees all the time. Invest in the traditional colors like black, white, navy and a stripe of some kind. Long sleeved and short sleeved. Those will be your staple pieces you use throughout the seasons. You can also vary the necklines if you like crew or v-neck and that will help change up your look accordingly. After you have your staple pieces, invest in a few colors of the season. I am loving the blush pink, evergreen and muted tones this year! And of course, leopard. Here is a snapshot of what I have on rotation, and I didn’t buy any of these this year.

Tip #2: Invest in a few sweaters

I love sweaters and it’s hard for me not to buy them ALL. So each year I try to limit myself to 3 or so, depending on what the trends are. And I re-use the same sweaters I wore last year. I only purchased 3 this year, a leopard cardigan, gorgeous green cardigan, and a long dark leopard tunic. I mentioned I love leopard print right? Here are my purchases and I will show you how I styled them below!

Tip #3: Don’t be afraid to mix and match

Growing up I never would’ve put patterns together but now that I am older (and have a college education for fashion) I understand how to pair patterns! You can absolutely put stripes and leopard together. Now, not all patterns go together, so trust your gut when it doesn’t look right.

Tip #4: Reuse boots and jeans

Now I know it isn’t any fun to reuse things you already have but hear me out. Jeans aren’t going out of style anytime soon and unless you’ve gained weight you don’t need new jeans. And besides, it isn’t fun trying them on anyway right? Second, if you take care of your fall boots you can get 2-3 years out of them at least. The boots in these photos I bought last year. I tried to avoid wearing them too late into the season with snow to keep them from getting ruined. So they have at least another year to be worn.

Tip #5: Wait for the Sale

If you have to purchase jeans and boots, wait until the end of the season and buy a bunch on sale. You will be set for next year! The moral of the story here is, have fun but don’t get crazy! I hope this helps you. If you have any questions or need help pairing things together message me or DM me on the gram!
