American Eagle: Jean Try On
Let me tell you a secret. I love shopping but I avoid trying on jeans like my life depends on it. Why? Because they never fit the same, there are a million different brands, fit, style, you name it. But… I’ve been wearing the same two pairs for the last two or three years now after my weight loss, so it was time to finally bite the bullet. Here is what I found.
I polled you all on Instagram and Facebook and American Eagle was by far the winner with your favorite place to buy jeans. So off I went.
I stuck with Skinny for the style because I am only 5’2″ and flare or bootleg do nothing to help my lack of height. Up first is the Dream Jean Curvy fit. I loved the concept of these, more room in the hips and booty but smaller waist so you don’t have that pesky gap in the back when you sit down. I had to size down from a 6 to a 4 in these due to too much room in the hips which made the waist a little too snug. They also only had high waist options which are a little too high for my small frame. If you need more room in the back and hips and you like high waist, these are for you!
Next I tried on their AE Ne(X)t Level Curvy High-Waisted Jegging. I liked the fit of these better (a 6 short fit but the waist was still a little too high for me, and they were too big.) Like I said, I’m really short!
Which leads me to the winner! Apparently I have a thing for ripped black jeggings because when I laid eyes on these, I knew it was going to be good. This is the original without the curvy fit, AE Ne(X)t Level High-Waisted Jegging. And they have them in low rise, which is a mid-rise for me. So it was love at first look.. or feel? Nope, that doesn’t work. Love at first stretch? That’s more like it. I got these in solid black (without the rips, shocking!) and a dark wash with rips. Two new pairs! So if you see me strutting around this weekend, it’s because I feel like a million bucks! These fit true to size, I am wearing a 4 short and they fit perfect!
