The Best Protein Waffles
As a mom of a picky eater, I am always looking for ways to pack healthy foods and protein into meals my son will actually eat. I also love food and carbs so what better way to enjoy it without all the guilt? I’ve tried so many different protein shakes. Plant based, whey, pea, quinoa, you name it! And I never really found one that wasn’t gritty but tasted great at the same time I’ve also tried the popular frozen protein waffles and boxed pancake mix but wasn’t a huge fan. These waffles are packed with protein and are so fluffy! I used a cuisinart waffle maker but I’m sure you could use just about anything. (If you’re looking for a kitchen necessity to add to your Christmas list this waffle maker is so easy to use and they are perfect each time.)
Here is the waffle iron I used! It also has pancake plates and you could totally use this recipe for pancakes also.
Now let’s get cooking! It only takes a few minutes to mix this up and I put mine on setting 3 so it only takes a few minutes to cook.
Simple waffle recipe
2 scoops Plexus Lean vanilla or chocolate protein
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons of water
Mix up and pour evenly onto waffle maker. Cook and enjoy! We like ours topped with some peanut butter or nutella.
You could swap out the protein depending on what your favorite kind is, it may not cook exactly like these but it’s worth a shot! I hope you enjoy this recipe.
